Upgrade Barrels for GLOCK G5 Now Available

Rival Arms continues to expand its lineup of premium upgrade components for GLOCK pistols with the new G5 barrels

Rival Arms entered the marketplace over a year ago with a focus on producing “better than factory” upgrade components for GLOCK handguns and select S&W pistols. While most of the components — ranging from precision barrels and slides to slide completion kits and tritium sights — centered on the GLOCK G3 and G4 pistols, the company is now expanding with barrels for the Gen 5 G17 and G19 9mm models.

Rival Arms barrels all begin with 416R stainless steel billet that is CNC-machined to exacting tolerances. Boasting a 1:10 twist and 6-groove rifling, these drop-in barrels also come with target-crowned muzzles.

To address wear resistance and corrosion, the barrels receive low-temperature vacuum PVD coating. Inside, the bore is treated with BORSLICK — a boron nitride DCD (dynamic compound deposition) designed to minimize heat build up and to reduce carbon fouling.

Two versions of the G5 barrels are offered in three different finishes. Those who wish to run a suppressor or other muzzle device can purchase a barrel with 1/2-28 muzzle threads. Included with that option is a color-matched thread protector. For those who prefer to run their GLOCKs “straight,” go with the standard barrel without threading.

Speaking of finish colors, the Rival Arms G5 upgrade barrels are offered in black, gold, and stainless steel.
