Dead Air Silencers has expanded its hunting suppressor lineup with the Dead Air Nomad Ti OTB suppressor, an over-the-barrel model designed to reduce added rifle length while shifting weight closer to the shooter.

The suppressor is rated for cartridges up to .300 RUM and 7mm Backcountry. Unlike a conventional design that places the blast chamber entirely ahead of the muzzle, the Nomad Ti OTB extends the chamber rearward over the barrel. Dead Air says this configuration reduces backpressure and improves sound suppression.

By moving a portion of the suppressor behind the muzzle, the Nomad Ti OTB adds 4.6 inches to the rifle’s overall length. The rearward weight distribution is also intended to improve balance during unsupported shots and extended field carry.

The suppressor is manufactured through an additive process that allows Dead Air to incorporate its gas-management system into a lightweight titanium body. It is configured for the company’s Xeno Radial Brake, which is intended to provide consistent mounting and help limit point-of-impact changes between installation cycles.

Over-the-barrel suppressors offer a practical option for hunters who want sound and flash reduction without placing the suppressor’s full length and weight beyond the muzzle. That can be particularly useful on rifles carried through timber, used from confined blinds, or fired from unsupported field positions.

The Dead Air Nomad Ti OTB suppressor has an MSRP of $1,049 and will be available in black or flat dark earth high-temperature Cerakote finishes. [TBD: availability date]

The Dead Air Nomad Ti OTB suppressor adds an unusually compact mounting arrangement to the Nomad hunting line while retaining compatibility with high-energy rifle cartridges.
