Here’s a “better than factory” no-brainer for GLOCK G3 and G4 owners.

by the Shoot On staff

Although Rival Arms is a relatively new entry into the GLOCK aftermarket component marketplace, you’ve likely heard about their many premium upgrade parts or seen them at your gun retailer. We’ve even covered a lot of their products here because their parts are high quality, made in the USA, and the company makes it so darn easy to get what you need thanks to their in-store buying option.

Whether you are ready for a full-on slide build or are looking for a few quick part upgrades for your GLOCK using Rival Arms components, one thing we do recommend that requires no more labor than you do every time you clean your gun is a guide rod and recoil spring assembly modification.

Factory GLOCKs come with a plastic guide rod. Although they have proven themselves to withstand high-volume shooting, many shooters feel more confident in their rig when running a metal guide rod. To that end, the Rival Arms guide rod and recoil spring assembly is an easy choice.

The factory plastic guide rod and spring assembly (top) and the Rival Arms billet stainless steel assembly (bottom).

The Rival Arms assembly replaces the factory plastic guide rod with a unit that is CNC-machined from solid stainless-steel billet. This means it is not only stronger than the factory guide rod, it is also easier to clean and is naturally resistant to corrosion. It comes fully assembled with a captured recoil spring in the factory weight to maintain OE cycling performance and includes a limited lifetime warranty. The guide rod assemblies are available for 3rd and 4th Gen GLOCK 17 and GLOCK 19 models.
