Dead Air Silencers has introduced the Dead Air Nomad Ti OTB hunting suppressor, expanding the company’s Nomad series with a design aimed at improving balance and reducing overall rifle length in the field. The new model uses an over-the-barrel configuration that shifts part of the suppressor’s volume rearward, a layout intended to benefit hunters carrying rifles through tight terrain or extended shooting positions.

The Dead Air Nomad Ti OTB hunting suppressor builds on the company’s established Nomad platform but alters the traditional suppressor layout. Instead of extending fully forward of the muzzle, the design expands the blast chamber back over the barrel, reducing forward length while repositioning weight closer to the shooter.

The over-the-barrel configuration is designed to expand the blast chamber partially behind the muzzle rather than entirely forward of it. According to Dead Air, the approach can help reduce backpressure while also improving sound suppression compared to more conventional forward-mounted suppressor designs.

That layout also affects handling. Because the suppressor extends only 4.6 inches beyond the muzzle, the overall rifle length remains closer to its unsuppressed configuration. Shifting the mass rearward may also help balance the rifle and reduce fatigue during off-hand shooting or long periods carrying the firearm in the field.

Construction relies on additive manufacturing using 6Al4V Grade 9 titanium, a material commonly used in lightweight suppressor designs for its strength-to-weight ratio. The Nomad Ti OTB is also designed to interface with Dead Air’s Xeno Radial Brake muzzle device, which uses a 5/8-24 thread pattern and is intended to simplify mounting while minimizing point-of-impact shift.

The Dead Air Nomad Ti OTB hunting suppressor carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $1,049 and is available in either black or flat dark earth (FDE) Cerakote finishes.

With its rearward-expanding blast chamber and titanium construction, the Dead Air Nomad Ti OTB hunting suppressor adds a compact, field-oriented option to the Nomad lineup, targeting hunters who want sound suppression without significantly increasing rifle length or front-end weight.
