Burris Veracity Riflescopes: The New Generation

As Burris Optics continues to roll out its next-generation riflescopes, the updated Veracity series is a good bet for those hankering for an upper mid-tier optic for their hunting rifle

Spring finds many Shoot ON readers fully immersed in warm-weather pursuits — particularly, the “I just need a day on the range” thing. Yeah, we get it. It’s also time we’re patterning shotguns and chasing gobblers after being stuck in the house for the last few months.

But while many tend to focus on the now, the seasonal shift signals something more. This is an early opportunity to look ahead and to begin considered preparations that will define successful fall big-game seasons.

If you are a long-term planner and intend to upgrade your hunting rifle optics this year, good for you. Better now than trying to get it together at the last minute. Those of you with eyes on optics may already be aware of the redesigned-for-2026 Burris Veracity riflescopes.

Developed as a premium line, the new Veracity series continues to offer a multitude of options and advantages for the serious hunter, with generous improvements not found on earlier Veracity models.

The Updates

The three optics comprising the next-generation Veracity line appropriately overlap to cover the full spectrum of most hunting applications. Using a 5x zoom, the Veracity riflescope series includes 2.5-12x42mm, 3-15x44mm, and 5-25x50mm models. Each uses multi-coated ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass to provide a sharper and more color-correct image, especially at higher magnifications and in lower-light environments.

Externally, the overall footprint of the optic is slightly reduced compared to the previous-generation Veracity scopes. The reduction in size did not compromise durability.

With the Burris Rapid Engagement Design (R.E.D.) comes a solid scope body, repeatable elevation and turret dials using dual springs, and metal-on-metal internals. Other stand-out features are the easy-to-grip, deeply-knurled magnification ring and adjustment dials. All three models use the Burris Knob Synergy turret, an interchangeable dial that can be exposed or capped. Both styles are finger-adjustable, capable of two rotations, and use a zero-stop.

Just as the three magnifications cover most tasks, the reticles selected for the Veracity riflescopes also cover a broad range of uses. From the basic, no-frills Plex to the long-range oriented RCT-MOA, there are options for your needs. Models vary between First Focal Plane and Second Focal Plane. All are illuminated except for the 3.5-15×44 with the standard Plex reticle.
