Irving, TX – Cold Steel, manufacturer and innovator of purpose-built knives and blade tools for everyday carry, tactical, and hunting applications, has developed a lower-cost version of the company’s popular AD-15 sub-4-inch tactical folding knife. The new AD-15 Lite is an easy buy-in without sacrificing critical performance features.
Patterned after the Andrew Demko original, the AD-15 Lite continues with the innovative Scorpion Lock design. This design includes a strong compression spring/back spacer/yoke assembly that allows the knife to be easily opened and closed with one hand, left or right, yet is virtually immune to failure.
The handle profile of the AD-15 Lite follows that of the original AD-15, which presents deep finger grooving for maximum retention when cutting or piercing. Cost savings are realized using injection-molded Griv-Ex™ handle material versus 3D CNC-machined aluminum billet found on the AD-15. The blade includes a saber-ground spear point for optimal piercing and edge control and comes with a false edge and jimping along the spine to further aid in precision cutting. An ambidextrous pocket clip provides for tip up carry.
