FALCO Holsters has expanded its TalonGuard OWB hybrid holsters lineup with four new outside-the-waistband models: the C915, C915 L, C916, and C916 L. The new holsters bring the company’s leather-and-Kydex TalonGuard system to two OWB carry formats, each offered in standard and light-bearing versions.

The expansion follows the earlier launch of TalonGuard inside-the-waistband holsters and is aimed at users who want the feel and flexibility of leather with the added trigger guard coverage and passive retention of a molded Kydex insert. All four models are available now and can be custom-built for a wide range of handgun and weapon light combinations.

The C915 and C915 L TalonGuard Pancake OWB Holsters are built around a traditional pancake layout with widely spaced polymer belt loops. That setup is intended to spread handgun weight across the belt and improve stability during movement. The C915 L accommodates pistols with tactical lights or lasers, while the C915 provides adjustable retention through a retention screw.

The C916 and C916 L take a more compact approach for outside-the-waistband carry. These models combine a polymer belt loop with a leather belt tunnel to reduce the holster’s overall footprint while maintaining belt support. The C916 L is configured for light- or laser-equipped handguns, while the standard C916 allows draw-force adjustment through retention screws.

“While we knew TalonGuard will push the boundaries of traditional hybrid holsters, the response to the IWB models still exceeded our expectations,” said Robert Kováč. “Customers immediately recognized the value of combining the safety and retention advantages of Kydex with the comfort and natural feel of leather. After seeing how quickly the first TalonGuard models gained popularity, expanding the system into OWB holsters was the natural next step. These new models give customers more options whether they prioritize comfort, stability, or compatibility with modern optics and weapon lights.”

Hybrid holsters have become a common solution for carriers who want more structure than leather alone can provide without giving up the quieter draw and body-conforming nature of a leather backer. FALCO’s TalonGuard approach leans into that middle ground by placing the molded Kydex where it matters most — around the trigger guard and, on light-bearing models, around the weapon light — while leaving the primary holster body in leather.

For OWB carry, the distinction between the pancake and compact designs is useful. The C915 series appears better suited to users who prioritize belt stability and load distribution, while the C916 series offers a smaller footprint for those looking to reduce bulk under cover garments.

All four holsters are available now from FALCO Holsters. Pricing starts at $129.95 for the C915 and C916, with the light-bearing C915 L and C916 L listed at $139.95.
