Burris expands its long-running pistol-optic line with the new FastFire E enclosed emitter red dot sight. The Burris FastFire E enclosed emitter red dot enters a crowded market of closed-emitter pistol sights but brings a feature set aimed at hunters, defense practitioners, and competitive shooters who need a sealed system with extended runtime.

The optic represents the company’s first fully enclosed design in the FastFire series. Built around a monolithic aluminum housing and sealed to IPX7 standards, the FastFire E is intended to withstand hard weather and debris intrusion while delivering extended carry or duty readiness via an “always on” 3.5-MOA dot and a claimed 60,000-hour runtime on a CR2032 battery.

The enclosed architecture, paired with a large 22x17mm window, positions the FastFire E squarely among modern closed-emitter optics intended for slide-mounted pistols and long guns. Burris notes that the aspherical lens design reduces distortion and glare, improving clarity in varied lighting. The optic also incorporates automatic brightness reset, a brightness lock, and a button lockout to prevent unintended changes.

Using the common ACRO footprint, the FastFire E is compatible with numerous factory slide cuts and aftermarket plates. A side-access battery compartment eliminates the need to remove the optic when swapping cells, maintaining zero during routine battery changes.

From a market perspective, enclosed emitters continue to gain favor due to their resistance to mud, snow, and lens-blocking debris—issues that can render open-emitter systems unusable. The FastFire E follows this trend while maintaining the compact footprint expected for pistol carry and competition use.

The Burris FastFire E enclosed emitter red dot extends the FastFire line into a fully sealed architecture, giving shooters a ruggedized option that aligns with current expectations for duty- and field-ready optics.
