Springfield Armory has expanded its roller-delayed personal defense weapon lineup with the new Kuna Tri-Lug 9mm pistol, adding an integrally machined three-lug muzzle interface to the existing Kuna platform. The configuration is intended to simplify attachment and removal of compatible suppressors while retaining the compact dimensions and operating system of the original Kuna.

The Tri-Lug interface is machined directly into the muzzle of the 6.6-inch barrel. Compatible suppressors attach with a push-and-twist motion, eliminating the need for tools when moving between suppressed and unsuppressed configurations.

The Kuna itself uses a monolithic aluminum upper receiver and roller-delayed operating system, a combination intended to reduce felt recoil while keeping the package compact. Controls are fully ambidextrous, and standard models ship with two 30-round magazines.

The addition of a three-lug muzzle interface gives the Kuna a familiar suppressor-mounting option long associated with compact 9mm platforms. For shooters already using compatible three-lug suppressors, the integral arrangement also avoids the need to install a separate muzzle adapter.

That makes the new model less a redesign of the Kuna than a practical expansion of the platform. Buyers can choose between a basic configuration with exposed Picatinny rail at the rear of the receiver or a version equipped with a side-folding Strike Industries FSA brace. Springfield Armory also offers 10-round configurations for restricted jurisdictions.

“At its launch, the roller-delayed 9mm Kuna helped set a new standard for large-format pistols,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “The new Kuna Tri-Lug takes this modern and popular design and adds a proven muzzle interface mount, offering shooters the best of both the modern and the classic.”

MSRP is $1,179 for the standard Kuna Tri-Lug and $1,330 for the FSA-braced version. Low-capacity models carry the same respective MSRPs. The pistols were announced Aug. 25, 2026, and are also offered through Springfield Armory’s FIRSTLINE program for qualifying professionals.

For shooters interested in a compact roller-delayed 9mm with a familiar suppressor interface, the Kuna Tri-Lug 9mm adds a useful factory-integrated option without substantially changing the underlying Kuna platform.
