Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the release of the Central Operating Group®, the serialized foundation of the modular Echelon® platform. Available as a standalone component, the COG gives you the freedom to build an Echelon around the exact configuration you need.
Using compatible OEM and aftermarket components, simply select your grip module, slide assembly, barrel, sights, magazines and accessories to create a complete pistol built around the proven operating core of the Echelon.

OEM grip module options include Compact, Full-Size w/Compact Dust Cover (designed for a 4.0″ slide assembly) and Full-Size configurations. Pair your preferred grip module with a 4.0″ or 4.5″ slide assembly, available in standard or integrally compensated configurations. Aftermarket options are also available in the growing Echelon-based ecosystem.
Manufactured using advanced processes and precision machining, the COG delivers exceptional durability and tight tolerances. Its robust stainless-steel construction ensures consistent performance and long-term reliability. Critical components of the trigger are machined from durable tool steel. Precision-polished and coated surfaces reduce friction, delivering smooth take-up and predictable break.
In addition, the COG features a unique second sear design to help prevent unintentional discharge should the firearm be dropped. As a serialized part, purchase of the COG requires being transferred through an FFL. MSRP is $295.
“The serialized Central Operating Group established the modular nature of the duty-grade Echelon pistol from the beginning,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “With the release of the standalone COG, shooting enthusiasts now have the means to craft a pistol configured exactly for their needs.”
