Benelli has announced a platform-wide update to its Benelli M2 Field shotgun lineup, introducing revised ergonomics and enhanced recoil management across all models for 2026. The upgrade focuses on shooter comfort and control while maintaining the inertia-driven reliability that has made the M2 a staple among waterfowl, turkey, and upland hunters.
The Benelli M2 Field shotgun has long served as a core model in the company’s semi-automatic hunting lineup. With this latest update, Benelli refines the platform through a redesigned stock system that integrates new recoil-mitigation features intended to improve comfort during extended shooting sessions.

The primary change to the Benelli M2 Field shotgun is a redesigned stock that incorporates the company’s Progressive Comfort recoil-reduction system. This system uses progressively stiffer, interlocking recoil-absorbing elements that adjust to the energy of the shotshell being fired. The goal is to moderate felt recoil across a broad spectrum of loads, from lighter target ammunition to heavier waterfowl loads.
Also new across the lineup is the Combtech Recoil Cheek Pad. Positioned along the comb of the stock, the soft insert is designed to reduce vibration and facial impact under recoil. The removable cheek pad can also be paired with different comb heights, allowing shooters to adjust fit and maintain a consistent cheek weld.
These ergonomic changes aim to complement the M2’s established Inertia Driven operating system, which has built a reputation for reliability in harsh field environments. By refining the shooter interface rather than altering the action itself, Benelli continues to evolve a shotgun platform that remains widely used in demanding hunting conditions.
The updated Benelli M2 Field shotgun models are available now with an MSRP starting at $1,699, depending on gauge, barrel length, and finish configuration.
With its upgraded stock system and expanded recoil mitigation features, the Benelli M2 Field shotgun moves into 2026 with a stronger emphasis on shooter comfort while retaining the lightweight, dependable performance that has defined the platform.
